Chewy honey oat cookies recipes


  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup rewarewa honey
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup wholewheat flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon ground
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup raisins or chocolate chips


  1. Preheat oven to 175 degrees Celsius, line two oven trays with baking paper
  2. In a medium bowl, beat butter with sugar until thoroughly blended. Beat in the honey, add the egg and vanilla, mixing until thick and creamy.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together oats, flour, salt, cinnamon and baking soda, blend into the honey mixture. Blend in raisins and chocolate chips. Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking trays. Bake for 12-14 minutes until cookies are golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow cookies to cool for 2-3 minutes before removing and placing on a cooling rack. Once cooled completely transfer to an air tight container.
